New to me, my first Amrut. Made better no doubt by the fact it was free (a gift from an Indian colleague).
N: I pick up hay and pencil shavings. Also some fennel seed and a trace of cinnamon bark in the background.
An interesting nose, not quite like anything I've had before
P: Quite creamy followed by a nice slightly oily fennel again, and then some citrus fruit. Quite a summery dram I feel. I can see an analogy with Lowlands.
F: Longer than I expected. The citrus goes right through it, and there's a slight buttery flavour. Spicey too.
This is really rather good stuff. It exceeds my expectations and could be a nice summer whisky out in the garden in the evening.
Must try the Fusion and the Two Continents, which are rated highly.
