A little farmyardy P : Swimming pools on the attack (chlorinated) quickly mellowing to peat. Buttery and a good strong blast of smoke.Gingery F : Long and warming with peat, stewed fruit and more ginger. Something else I can't put a name to Status: Emptied Top

	SMWS 27.44 Age: 10 yo Vintage: 1989 Strength: 54.9% Bottler: Scotch Malt Wisky Society Tasting Notes: N : Maple syrup and butter. Acetone. Malt. At the end a trace of salt P : The Society says butterscotch - and they're right! But the maple syrup from the nose is still there and there's some vanilla too. None of the trademark coconut F : Shorter than normal for Springbank, but sweet and honeyed. C: A very drinkable dram. Not as complex as many Springers but a really easy drinker. click image to enlarge	15 yo Age: 15 yo Strength: 46% Bottler: Distillery Tasting Notes: N : Orange slices in marsala wine. Some menthol coming through after a few minutes in the glass. Chocolate coated shortbread. A whiff of smoke? Not sure. A drop of water turns it quite musty P : Coastal with more sherry than in the nose - but nicely balanced. Quite hot and a little oily. Fruity too though I haven't decided what fruit - maybe it's the oranges from the nose? Yes I think it is. F : Salty. Drying. Quite long and those oranges are there again, this time with honey. click image to enlarge	21 yo Age: 21 yo Strength: 46% Bottler: Distillery Tasting Notes: N : Oranges, coconut, hazelnuts and chocolate. Thing is, every time I have this I find something new. This time it's exotic tropical fruits. Complex, then. P : How do I describe this? Tangerines today, with a coconut background. Some chocolate in there and a little pineapple F : Creamy and long with a lingering Bounty bar flavour after the citrus C: This has long been one of my favourites but it's getting expensive and difficult to find.
