American Oak

Age: 12 yo

Strength: 40%

Bottler: Distillery

Tasting Notes:

N: Standard 'livet 12 only more so. Fruity and very pleasant. Quite sweet with a trace of coconut

P: Very fruity and sweet (over-ripe fruit) - but I can't pinpoint the exact fruit(s). Traces of cherry perhaps. Not sure

F: As the palate fades, the vanilla and oak take over. Becomes quite dry in contrast to the early sweetness. Quite creamy and quite long.

C: Actually quite an enjoyable and drinkable malt. A nice contrast to the standard 12. Certainly won't be to everyones tastes as the dry finish against the fruit sweet start may jar. But for me that's a nice contrast that adds a little complexity to the overall experience

18 yo

Age: 18 yo

Strength: 43%

Bottler: Distillery

Tasting Notes:

N: Very fruity (burnt oranges?) and some oak. Sweet (icing sugar)

P: Sweet and mouth-coating. Juicy. Spicy and still fruity. Feeels stronger than its 43% to me. Some wood shavings

F: Medium-long on orange and spice again.

C: Very nice malt, seeming more alocoholic than it actually is, to me.
