N: Some smoke yes, but mainly bananas and some floral notes.
P: Slightly medicinal attack - unusual for Bowmore. Rather spicy and quite toffee-ish, but still with some smoke - more than in the nose in fact. Seems quite salty and a little bitter (though I didn't think it got its colour from E150a so must be natural)
F: Quite long and smoky with a little sharpness. Then a return of the bitterness
N: Cherry Blossom Shoe polish. After a few seconds some jam, oddly. I don't get much smoke in this one and no lavender.
Wait a minute - in fact several minutes - and I am now finding some smoke after all.
P: Quite a powerful flavour. This is where the peat went, then - all gone from the nose to the palate! Some meat here too - ham?
F: Salty and long. Some liquorice after a while. Hot.
C: This is my favourite of the Bowmores I've tried, probably because it has the least of those floral notes. Don't get me wrong - I like floral aromas and flavours in their place, but lavender is not my favourite floral - and I don't think it goes well with peat either.
