Not as intense as many of the Ardbegs I've sampled tonight p: That's better. The sweet peat I expect, with creamy vanilla. Quite fruity (hard to pin down, just generally fruity!). click image to enlarge	SMWS 33.57 'Stornoway black pudding wrapped in Elastolast' Age: 6 yo Vintage: 1998 Strength: 52.8% Bottler:Scotch Malt Whisky Society Tasting Notes: n: A trace of sulphur at first but it soon disappears. It's followed by sherry and peat - maybe the peat dominates but it's a sharp peat p : Some fish there, but mainly peat, and sherry. A sharpness that may be a hint of sulphur still in there. In a few minutes this may dissipate....yes it has. 10 minutes later, all gone. f : the finish is peat and some smoke with a good dose of fish again. It's nt smoked fish though - the smoke and the fish are quite distinct. Doesn't have the complexity of many Ardbegs - no tarry ropes here. Just the fish, the peat and the sherry Status: Emptied Top

Dark chocolate or cocoa, (yes cocoa) sherry and marmalade (seville oranges), peat. A dose of wood and quite tannic. f: Long, on marmalade. That bittersweetness of dark marmalade too. Peat smoke in there but nicely subdued. Can't detect any vanilla or hotness. Lovely. Status: Unopened Top
